Noah’s Ark is a furniture project that focuses on excess consumption.
The installation is based on the well-known Bible story of Noah, who builds an Ark and saves a pair of every species from the Flood. However, in this project, it is furniture that we are trying to save from the rising oceans.
With this somewhat unconventional solution, we strive to direct attention to and create a debate about the environmental burden, which excess consumption is.
Monique Engelund and Sophie Alexandrine are educated furniture designers from Aarhus School of Architecture, and are both engaged in critical design and installations that challenges and questions the world we live in.
