What is Copenhagen Design Week?
Copenhagen Design Week is an international initiative from the Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs, directed by Danish Design Centre. The Copenhagen Design Week was founded in 2009 as a biennale.

Where is it being held?
Most events take place in Central Copenhagen. The main exhibition area is Kvæsthusmolen down by the harbour next to The Royal Danish Playhouse. Here we have our "Think Human" design zone.

Who is the design week targeted to?
Copenhagen Design Week will attract business professionals such as architects, designers and international buyers, the press, design managers, public managers, academics and large numbers of general public from both Denmark and those visiting from abroad.

Why is the world's largest design prize, INDEX: Award, a part of Copenhagen Design Week? Isn't it a global prize?
Yes, it is a global prize, worth €500,000, but INDEX: is a Danish-based, non-profit organisation established in 2002 - today a subsidiary under Danish Design Centre. With their concept of Design to Improve Life, INDEX: is a vital part of Copenhagen Design Week. INDEX:s activities is a proud part of the Danish design tradition, focusing on humanism, social understanding and democratic thinking. Read more about INDEX here.

How can I get an invitation for the events marked with "invitation only"?
Please send your request to contact@copenhagendesignweek.com explaining who you are and why you want to attend, then we will pass the request on to the relevant partner.

What is the fee structure of Copenhagen Design Week?
The programme structure is that the week offers exhibitions, talks, conferences/seminars, fairs and open showrooms. Most with out any fee at all - others with entrance fee. Each event description will display a fee if it is relevant and information on how to register if the partner requires registration on their own website.

Where do I see the programme for each day?
At this stage we do not have a day-by-day list for all events during Copenhagen Design Week, but during August we will publish a full programme both in a printed and digital version. If you want to see the events day-by-day at the moment, please use the Event Finder - choose Event and sort by "date".
